My Juice Journey...

When I created glow 10 months ago,  I had no idea what I was going to experience and in all honesty, I can't even remember thinking should I or shouldn't I do it, I just did it and took a risk because I had nothing to lose.   I was definitely out of my mind crazy with all that I was personally enduring along with taking care of three small children, one would expect my life to go in the opposite direction that it did.  But now after almost a year of nonstop change, I am forcing myself to sit in timeout, breathe and put things into perspective.  By doing so I realized that some of life's greatest experiences can happen when you are living outside of your comfort zone and not thinking.   This realization happened in the busiest time of my life because I made it happen.  I started to think back on my life, how often had I not stopped to acknowledge where I was to actually enjoy it before it was just a memory?  From an early age,  I always set goals for myself to achieve and planned out each step.  Being very timid and shy, my dad took notice to my natural athletic ability and got me into sports right away.  He spent a lot of time with me, practicing and believing in me.  I remember the road being hard and I didn't always want to practice but I knew that he would be disappointed in me if I didn't try and this feeling drove me even further.  It made me not only want to play for him but gave me the confidence to do well and be successful.  Sports molded me to be a well rounded person outgoing, strong, smart and confident.  Once I took the time to appreciate what the sport was bringing to my life I became more passionate about playing it.  Thinking back on it now I noticed a connection between my love for sports and my passion for juicing.  In college, nothing made sense but one thing to play sports because it made me feel good and boosted my confidence.  I believe juice found me at a time in my life when I couldn't control certain things and it gave me a new focus in life.   I can remember doing whatever it took to continue playing for as long as I could and planning out the steps to get there.  I did the same once I found juice, doing whatever it took to incorporate it into my everyday routine to make me feel better mentally and physically.  In many ways,  I viewed it as my healthy addiction, one that got me through a life change and helped me to glow in the dark on my own.  Years before my parents and sports helped me to get into college, even though I was not completely sure about what I wanted to study, I knew I wanted to play field hockey and nothing else mattered at the time.  Once I got my priorities straight it was game over or shall I say game on.  In order to play the game I loved I had to focus on staying in school.  It was from that moment of realization that I became driven and I started learning how to juggle it all to stay in the game.  The end result was better then great, it was amazing besides playing the sport I loved I had great support from my family, who jumped on board cheering me on through the years and a new team to call my family.  I can still remember the love that I felt for and from my teammates along with the blood, sweat and tears we left on the field.  It was a time in my life that I treasure now and am thankful to have had those memories.  I got as far as I could personally in field hockey becoming an All American, a goal I set for myself from the beginning of college and I was fortunate enough to experience a first time Division II Woman's Lacrosse National Championship, something I had never played until I got to college and ended up loving.  I see now that my love for the game was all it took to drive me and that same drive has continued to follow me throughout my life thus far.   Times sure have changed since then as I juggle different things but my drive and determination have always remained constant.  It's that little voice inside of me that has always been there for as long as I can remember,  the voice that gets me out of bed every morning to start a new day no matter what challenges face me.  It's that voice that allows me to put everything out there on the line and risk it all for something that I am truly passionate about and love.  And with that voice I believe the end result for me will always be positive and strong.   That is why I tell myself you GLOW ON GIRL everyday!
